The original was crappy looking so it was removed. This koi design is one example of one of our handmade pickguards, and of all this one looks the best on this guitar. You can choose between a few designs and I'll include, and install it free. This is a 25.5 scale dreadnought guitar. Features a solid spruce top, mahogany back, sides, and neck and finished in a glossy Antique Sunburst or possibly also called a Tobacco Burst finish.

Both top and back are fully bound, there's a multi-stripe inlaid rosette, the tortoise teardrop pickguard was removed but as noted your choice of handcrafted wood pickguard will be added. The bridge is rosewood with solid rosewood bridge pins with beautiful abalone and brass inlay. The rosewood fingerboard has real pearl dot inlays, and the neck is mahogany with mahogany headstock set off by the inlaid pearloid Yairi logo, The tuners are chrome enclosed with the Alvarez Logo.

Yari DY-45 is in excellent condition, the year is unknown as the label shows a red X, so this may be a 1980s or 1990s model. The top has a finish booboo (yes, my booboo) on the top. A small area of the finish is missing and I will be working to repair that.

There was a fine topical crack in that area I was repairing when I lost my grip and took off the finish. The crack although on the top only (not thru) has not been supported from the underside using a small, thin piece of wood.

This is to prevent any further cracking. This was a just-in-case thing, it was not necessary.

I want the new owner to be able to play this for years without worrying that it may crack though. The headstock had some dings, and although still visible, the entire headstock is smooth to the touch. This seems to be a more rare guitar due to its color, tobacco burst, and gloss finish. Most that are out there are the satin finish. This is the first Yairi I've had the pleasure to offer and I can see why they are so collectible, it sounds amazing! Overall condition is excellent; it does have some wear on the fretboard and some dings here and there, but plays so well! Structurally it's sound inside and out with a spot-on perfect setup, it's a joy to play. It comes in its original ABS hardshell case as shown.
