Ovation 1111-4 Beautiful Vintage Acoustic Guitar with original Ovation case! 1st year made 1972 Low serial number 004172. Made in Hartford, CONN USA! The Balladeer was the most popular Ovation built with many different variations.

It is the "Workhorse" of the Ovation line. Ovation guitars were developed by aeronautical engineer Charles Kaman starting in the mid-'60s.

Worked for Igor Sigorsky before building his own brand. He than founded Ovation guitars. Ovation were the first production guitars to use fiberglass backs, and brought a number of innovative features never before used on acoustic guitars. The 1111 or Balladeer series was a mainstay of the Ovation line-up through the 70s and 80s, and has been released in a number of variations. Years of Production: 1968 - 1983, 1993 - 2000.

A really great playing and sounding guitar. Our luthier installed new strings and repaired the bridge He stated it would be good for many years of play.

He has been a ovation dealer for years and continues to sell the brand. After the repair and restring He stated that this guitar was in his opinion one of the best conditioned and playing ones he's seen and played. I dont see any cracks of any kind. There is some spidering you can see in the lacquer finish.

I have 100% feedback and plan to keep it that way. Items is as stated here. I wonder what stories it could tell? Not perfect but has the correct wear for something from the 1970s.

The original case has one broken clip. GOOD LUCK a 1111-4 does not come up on the open market very often..
