The top and back are Carved Spruce, Archtop. The revolutionary idea, is to use no braces. The Spruce back adds to the bass end. Wider neck, like a classical, easy to adapt to wider neck.
People are a lot bigger than they were in the 1930s when Gibson set fingerboard width. A I do make these, by myself.

You adjust the action by shimming under the bridge, it is not glued down.I set the action as low as possible, it is easier to raise the action than to lower it. To do that, simply file the bridge.
